My holiday road trip to Eaglestone Rock, Kalgoorlie, Esperance and Albany

The last 10 days I attempted another holiday. I started with climbing at Eaglestone Rock near Merredin. It was on my wishlist for 3 years and now it finally became a reality. Camping, climbing and spending time in nature there was very special. Nobody else around, listening to birds singing and watching amazing sunsets and an even more impressive sunrise with the morning star still visible. The night sky was incredible. I enjoyed the peace and quiet very much.
The journey went on to Kalgoorlie...

Next stop on my holiday was Kalgoorlie. The streets are really wide and one can imagine the old days where camel caravans were present. The old buildings are beautiful. Went to see the Super pit too. As impressive as it is, it also broke my heart. To see the hole that is beeing dug in Mother Nature was very painful for me. All this for the quest of gold...
The size of the machines used is incredible. A tour of the old Hannans North tourist mine allowed me to climb one of the big trucks and also gave more insight into the history and the old days of mining. Then the journey went onto Esperance...

Loved to see Esperance, another bucketlist wish ticked off. Even though the weather was mixed I still managed to see the beautiful beaches, catch a sunburn..., and see some of the stunning wildflowers that were still on display. Even climbed Frenchman Peak a wopping 262m Mountain 😉 (😊 forgive an Austrian girl to be amused by it). The water was freezing and therefore the swim only short... Antarctica isn't that far after all.

Of course I went to Lucky Bay in Cape Le Grand national park and was lucky enough to see the Kangaroos there. They were super cute. The water is soooo blue and clear there it is incredible and the sand is very fine.

Thistle Bay was even more impressive and I was so fortunate to meet a little Seal there, it had come out for some rest and soaking up the sun. It was sooo cute as it seemed to pose for the camera. I was very respectful and it allowed me fairly close. check out how white the sand is compared to the Seal and the blue of the water.... just stunning. The Seal really appeared to enjoy itself and just relaxed before it went back for a swim. The remoteness of the beach and all was beautiful.

Last stretch and location was Albany and one day in Denmark. the weather was more rainfall than sunshine but still managed to do some nice bush walks in Denmark and get to some lookouts around Albany.
