A couple of weeks ago I received news that my Quilt "Picture Postcard Memories' was awarded Highly Commended in the Bunbury International Quilt Challenge 2017.
The Quilts were on display at the Stirling Arts Centre in Bunbury and will be travelling through Western Australia. One stop is the WA Craft Fair in August where the Quilts will be on display.
The Theme this year was '20 years ago' as it marks 20 years since the Bunbury Quilt Guild was founded. The mustard fabric in the corners is the fabric that every contestant was given and had to use in their project. My Quilt speaks about 1997 ( 20 years ago...) a year where I traveled the world learning about new Cultures and Countries. I have fond memories of that time. The hot fix diamontes represent the places I went to. I traveled by car, train and airplane which is depicted on the left side of the Quilt. I used stencils and fabric paint to add the motives. The Quilt was then densely quilted.
